Former University of Memphis star and 1996 NBA lottery pick Lorenzen Wright’s body has been found by law enforcement officials in a wooded area at Hacks Cross and Winchester in southeast Memphis. See story.

A law enforcement source confirmed the body found was that of Wright, who has been missing since July 19, though the Memphis Police Department won’t officially comment. Police are referring to their investigation as a “death investigation.”

The body was found by someone who called police today.

This afternoon at the Collierville home of Wright’s ex-wife, Sherra Robinson Wright, sounds of wails and crying could be heard from inside the house. It is assumed that the family had just gotten the awful news.

Family members, friends and some former University of Memphis basketball players, including Penny Hardaway and Elliot Perry, were gathering near the wooded area near Hacks Cross and Winchester.

Police sources confirmed earlier that they are investigating a 911 hangup call from Wright’s cellphone made July 19.

Because Wright was thought to be carrying a large sum of cash when he was last seen leaving his ex-wife’s Collierville home, police are investigating concerns he may have been the victim of foul play.

He recently flew from Atlanta to Memphis to visit friends and his six children, friends said. He was scheduled to drive back to the Atlanta area July 19, with his six children and a friend. He was last seen at about 2 a.m. July 19, leaving his ex-wife’s Whisperwood Drive home. His former wife told police she doesn’t know who he left with or what type of car they were in, according to the missing person’s report.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.

Wright played 13 years in the NBA, including five with the Memphis Grizzlies, after playing two seasons at the University of Memphis.

What a sad story. Lorenzen had so much promise. Heartfelt condolences go out to Lorenzen Wright’s family.

Get your popcorn ready…Terrell Owens has finally found an NFL home. The flamboyant reality-TV star will join his VH-1 brethren, Chad Ochocinco on the Cincinnati Bengals this season! Here we go…

The reality is these two dudes will be interesting to watch on TV this fall!

The Bengals and receiver Terrell Owens agreed to a two-year, $2 million deal, according to a league source.

A league source also mentioned the deal includes another $2 million in incentives. Owens could earn $333,000 each for passing the following milestones: 60 catches, 100 catches, 900 receiving yards, 1,300 receiving yards, 10 touchdowns and 14 touchdowns.

The Bengals were Owens’ first choice, giving him a chance to team with close friend Chad Ochocinco who has already dubbed the pair Batman and Robin. The Bengals made an offer on Monday, and Owens accepted a day later.

On his Twitter account, Owens replied to Ochocinco late Tuesday: “Ocho Uno is coming 2 town!! Hey Robin, Batman will b there soon!” He’s expected to sign his deal when he arrives in Georgetown.

Already, it’s like something out of a reality show.

Ochocinco gushed about the matchup on his Twitter feed, welcoming Owens and joking that “all of our games have been moved to pay-per-view, you got to pay to see this.”

Both of the look-at-me receivers are accustomed to cable.

By adding the 36-year-old Owens, the Bengals will lead the NFL in reality show stars. Ochocinco competed on “Dancing With the Stars” in the offseason, and has a dating show called “Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch” currently running on VH1. After Ochocinco’s show comes “The T.O. Show.”

This could be a fun marriage if the Bengals win a boat-load of games. But if for some reason this ship doesn’t sail, watchout. Mad drama is sure to follow!

Regardless, a circus-like atmosphere will be the norm in Cincy now! If Chad wasn’t enough now they have the ultimate drama king in T.O.!! I don’t know about popcorn, but you betta get your microphones ready!

The hits keep comin’ outta Dallas! Cowboy tight end Martellus Bennett’s rear end (and the rest of him) was put on blast by his slighted girlfriend, according to MediaTakeout!

According to the web site, Bennett cheated on his girlfriend, so she sought revenge by leaking the naked pictures for the whole world to see.

Bennett is far from the first athlete to be exposed online. Nude photos of Portland Trailblazers center Greg Oden and San Antonio Spurs guard George Hill appeared earlier this year, and an alleged picture from Tampa Bay Rays star Evan Longoria was posted in May, to name just a few examples.

Oh boy…a suspension could be coming for Bennett. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has a detrimental personal conduct rule which would seem to qualify in this case. Just what Jerry’sWorld needs as training camp opens…another circus act!

President Barack Obama is going into the lion’s den – no, not Congress, The View!

Producers of the ABC morning chat show announced Monday that the ladies of The View will tape an interview with the President on Wednesday and air it on Thursday, RadarOnline.com can report.

View creator and co-host Barbara Walters- who’s been on an extended break after undergoing from heart surgery – will make a special appearance and join in the interview.  The panel will talk to Mr. Obama the economy, jobs, the Gulf Coast oil disaster, and how Obama’s family is adjusting to life in the White House, according to the producers.

Obama last appeared on The View in March 2008 before he was elected President, and his wife, Michelle, was a guest co-host three months later. As we mentioned, Thurday’s episode will mark View creator and host Barbara Walters’ first appearance on the show since she underwent heart valve replacement surgery in May.

Walters, 80, announced that she would return to the show full-time in September. We are so pleased and honored that President Obama will be a guest on The View, Walters said in a statement. “This shows that both the President and First Lady feel that our show is an influential and important source of information and news.

Mr. Obama’s appearance on The View makes his become the first sitting U.S. President to appear on a daytime talk show.

Although I would so much rather see Michelle Obama on The View cause she will rip Elisabeth Hassleback a new one!

How does a ’stud’ like Bryant respect a ‘bum’ like Williams???

Williams gave his pads to Bryant after Sunday’s morning practice, but Bryant declined to carry them. Williams threatened to go to “step two” when talking to reporters.

Bryant had this to say regarding being “hazed” by his teammate:

“I’m not doing it,” Bryant said. “I feel like I was drafted to play football, not carry another player’s pads.”

“If I was a free agent, it would still be the same thing. I just feel like I’m here to play football. I’m here to try to help win a championship, not carry someone’s pads. I’m saying that out of no disrespect to [anyone].”

It’s a common duty for rookies, who typically get some sort of hazing. Bill Parcells used to make first-round picks bring him water during breaks in practice. The Cowboys’ rookie offensive linemen are given awful haircuts by the veterans at some point during each training camp.

“Everybody has to go through it,” Williams said. “I had to go through it. No matter if you’re a No. 1 pick or the 7,000th pick, you’ve still got to do something when you’re a rookie.

“I carried pads. I paid for dinners. I paid for lunches. I did everything I was supposed to do, because I didn’t want to be that guy.”

What would “step two” be?

“We’ll find out. Definitely going to find out,” Williams said. “I don’t know. I’ve seen guys take people’s credit cards and go fill up their cards and wife’s cards and everything. There’s a lot of dirt that goes on in that locker room.”

Bryant, a Lufkin, Texas, native who went to Oklahoma State, has become an immediate fan favorite. He made several spectacular catches during each practice in the Alamodome — where the crowd roars even when he makes routine plays — and runs a lap around the field high-fiving fans before going into the locker room.

Williams, an Odessa, Texas, native and University of Texas product, is a frequent target of fan criticism due to his poor production since being traded from the Detroit Lions during the 2008 season. He was booed during Sunday morning’s practice when he dropped a pass, although Pro Bowler Miles Austin didn’t get similar treatment when he had a drop in the afternoon session.

There is apparent friction between Williams and Bryant as the rookie threatens to take Williams’s starting spot on the team. Bryant has been all business since arriving in Dallas and obviously recognizes the opportunity to shine where his fellow wide receiver has not.

“I don’t believe in that (hazing) at all,” Bryant said. “We have a goal here. It’s not about playing games. It’s all about just trying to do the right thing and achieve our goal.”

Looks like Dez’s ego is too big for all that rookie hazing! Dude needs to lighten up a little though…every rookie goes through the ritual…on every team! I wonder what will Dez do if Williams forces things and takes it to ’step two’? Football practice might turn into a UFC smackdown between the two!! My money’s on Dez!! LOL

Lorenzen Wright, a former NBA lottery pick who spent more than a decade playing professional basketball, has gone missing, WREG reports. The former NBA big man has not been seen in a week, and his family is reportedly “very concerned.” See story…

Wright never showed the stuff of a ‘true balla’ in the NBA.

Police do not suspect foul play and his home was foreclosed in May.

Wright was the seventh overall pick in the 1996 NBA Draft. He played with the Clippers for three years before joining the Atlanta Hawks. He later spent five seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies, and played again with Atlanta from 2006 through 2008. He spent part of one season with the Sacramento Kings and finished his time in the NBA with the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2008-2009 season.

It’s been reported that Wright has had financial woes and is generally looked at as a NBA lottery bust, never quite living up to the potential of being a top draft pick.

I hope dude is not depressed or something…or gotten himself into something which he couldn’t get out of. I imagine it’s tough for an athlete to be regarded so highly and have so much potential never to really fulfill their dream. It can make one feel like they failed—and when you consider the money that one didn’t make or maybe mismanaged— it could make one spiral into a depressed state, if they’re not strong.

I don’t know if Lorenzen fits the bill for that type of behavior but his family is really worried about him. Let’s hope this story ends on a good note.

State elections officials Wednesday narrowly rejected a Milwaukee Assembly candidate’s attempt to run with the slogan “NOT the ‘whiteman’s bitch’ ” under her name on the ballot.

Wisconsin state legislature candidate Ieshuh Griffin wants voters to know she is “NOT the white man’s b*tch” and is NOT happy about being prevented from spreading her message, Fox News Channel reported late Thursday.

Griffin, who is running as an Independent, wanted that statement — and capitalization — posted under her name on the ballot for state representative, in the place where the candidate’s political party would usually be listed. But the state’s Government Accountability Board (GAB) denied her request.

“It’s not racist, it’s not a slur … it’s not pointed to a particular person. In my point of view, the average politician is a token,” said Griffin.

She is now suing on the grounds that her “freedom of expression” is being “suppressed.”
GAB spokesman Reid Magney explained why Griffin’s request was denied, saying, “Staff determined that her language used on her declaration of candidacy is pejorative in nature and does not satisfy the requirements of Wisconsin statutes.”

During a hearing, a board member asked Griffin if she would be satisfied omitting the expletive and simply writing that she was “not under the white man’s influence.” Griffin did not respond to the query. Griffin is running to replace State Representative Annette “Polly” Williams, who is retiring after 30 years in office.

Masked gunmen entered Charlotte Bobcats star Stephen Jackson’s home early Wednesday morning in an apparent robbery attempt and held his wife at gunpoint before locking her in a bathroom, according to police. See story below…

Three men broke into the home in a gated community of two dozen million-dollar homes around 2:45 a.m. Wednesday, police said.

Jackson was in Texas for a basketball camp and his wife was not injured, multiple media organizations reported.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police had made no arrests as of Friday morning, Officer Rosalyn Harrington, a department spokeswoman, told The Associated Press.

Police did not release any other details about the incident.

Jackson is a shooting guard who helped lead the Bobcats to their first playoff appearance last spring.

Public records list Jackson and his wife, Renata, as occupants of the $1.7 million home where they’ve lived since December, The Charlotte Observer reported. Jackson arrived in Charlotte the previous month after the team acquired his contract rights in a trade with the Golden State Warriors.

The 6,300-square-foot tan stucco home with three garages is owned by former Bobcats guard Jason Richardson, who was traded to the Phoenix Suns during the 2008-09 season.

Jackson, 32, could not be reached for comment at the printing of this report but you gotta figure dude is pretty upset over this! Thankfully, his wife was not harmed.

I don’t want to speculate but the incident does beg the question: What was up with the security system? Did the Jacksons even have one in place? Was it on?

It just makes me recall that tragic robbery attempt involving deceased Redskin safety Sean Taylor a few years back. That turned into Taylor’s murder. No security system in place at Taylor’s home. You wonder could his death had been avoided if there was one.

All the details are yet to be known with the Jackson incident but I do know that there are some multi-million dollar athletes that forget they are wealthy and don’t have adequate security at their homes!

Forget what TV Land is telling you…it’s not so hot in Cleveland these days! First LeBron leaves…now former Browns center LeCharles Bentley is suing the club for negligence that led to a career-ending staph infection at the team’s training facility. The former player claims the infection nearly killed him! SMH…Read on.

Bentley’s attorney, Shannon Polk, said the lawsuit filed in Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court seeks at least $25,000 in damages for alleged fraud and negligent misrepresentation. Bentley could seek more money in court.

Polk said Bentley nearly died from the infection while he was rehabbing from a knee injury.

“They told him their facility was the best,” Polk said. “But they never told him about a host of unsanitary conditions there. And they never told him about the list of others who contracted staph before he chose to rehab there.”

The Browns declined to comment on Thursday.

Bentley never played a game for the Browns after signing a six-year, $36 million contract as a free agent. He tore his left patellar tendon in training camp in 2006, and his career never recovered after the infection.

In 2007, Bentley told The Associated Press that he had undergone four operations since getting hurt, the final two to clean out the staph infection, which ate away at his tendon. The virus became so severe that doctors considered amputating his leg.

“At one point, I was so sick they weren’t sure I was going to live through the night,” Bentley told the AP.

The lawsuit alleges the Browns’ training facility in suburban Berea has been portrayed to players and player prospects “as a world-class facility at which `state-of-the-art’ physical training, medical care and treatment and other rehabilitative services are provided.”

Bentley’s repaired knee became swollen and he was diagnosed with staph infection within weeks of beginning rehabilitation at the facility in July 2006, according to the lawsuit. The lawsuit also says the Browns failed to sanitize equipment.

The Browns had at least six players stricken with some sort of staph infection in recent years, including former receiver Joe Jurevicius, who settled a similar lawsuit with the team in June. Terms of the settlement were not disclosed.

When the Jurevicius lawsuit was settled, team attorney Fred Nance said the Browns’ sanitation and hygiene practices “have been and continue to be at the highest state-of-the-art level in the league.”

The Browns’ alarming rise in staph cases spurred the club to request assistance from the Cleveland Clinic, its health care provider and a sponsor. The Clinic twice sent a team to examine the team’s headquarters and indoor practice field house in Berea.

The Clinic concluded the team was following proper procedure and CDC recommendations to prevent staph and that the five cases involving players were unrelated.

Browns players Brian Russell, Ben Taylor, Kellen Winslow and Braylon Edwards also battled staph.

“Had the Browns disclosed that stuff to him, had they been straight with him, he would have never agreed to rehab at their training facility,” Polk said.

Something is obviously wrong at that training facility. When you have that many cases of players getting staph infections on your team, something is undoubtedly wrong. Poor Cleveland. What’s next? I guess the river will set ablaze again!

Brian McKnight is not the father of a 14-year-old kid in Florida — so says a DNA test — and now, he’s no longer responsible for $341,640 in back child support payments the boy’s mother was hoping to collect.

As TMZ previously reported, a woman sued McKnight last year claiming Brian is her long lost baby daddy. But McKnight didn’t respond to her lawsuit, and the judge issued a default judgment against him … which means he was on the hook for the cash.

McKnight eventually took a DNA test — and the results showed that Brian could not be the kid’s father … so the judge promptly tossed out the case.

Good news for Brian McKnight.  Bad news for another child that still doesn’t know who his father may be.

Back on June 23rd I reported that Hornets guard Chris Paul was rumored to be interested in a trade to the Orlando Magic…well in the aftermath of LeBron’s move to Miami, it looks like CP3 has plans on forming his own Big Three!! See story…

Paul may be just paving the way for buddy Melo to join him with Amare in NY.

According to sources close to the situation, Paul will have a sit down with the New Orleans Hornets management on Monday to discuss the direction of the team and a possible trade ESPN.com’s Marc Stein reports.

As currently constructed, the Hornets are not geared to challenge L.A. in the West, much less for a championship. But New Orleans has Darren Collison, a very promising guard that is capable of handling Paul’s starting spot should the Hornets decide to honor a possible trade request. Both are healthy reasons why Chris Paul may be traded.

Chris Paul planted this seed way back in June…and probably knew then that his good friends Dwyane Wade and LeBron James were gonna do everything possible to join forces on the same team. During (other good friend) Carmelo Anthony’s wedding, Paul allegedly made a toast to his buddy and promised that he, Carmelo and recently signed forward Amare Stoudemire would form their own “Big Three” in New York with the Knicks.

Paul may have been joking but there is evidence that his toast was nothing to sneeze at. “Those guys want to beat the three guys in Miami,” a source close to the situation said. A report Wednesday on CBSSports.com said Paul saw what James did in signing to play alongside Wade and Bosh and has designs on doing something similar.

Carmelo Anthony will be a free agent after the upcoming season and has yet to sign the 3-year, $65 million contract the Nuggets have on the table. While most league executives believe Anthony will sign the extension, several sources close to him said he will not sign and that his ultimate desire is to become a free agent and play in New York.

Other teams CP3 is interested in include the Magic (with good friend Dwight Howard), Mavericks and Trailblazers.

The competitive nature of this group of NBA friends has apparently given birth to forming a posse to compete against each other…something very different from the me-against-you singular stance of the Magic-Bird-Jordan days and if you consider for a minute a Knick threesome of Paul, Anthony and Amare to battle the Heat, you’ll have the old Knick-Heat rivalry from the 90’s renewed! Wade’s apology comes on the heels of comments he apparently made last week defending new teammate LeBron James’s playoff performance, saying that James’s Cavs teammates did not step up in the playoffs.

Upon hearing that, Cavs guard Mo Williams apparently tweeted Wade to “watch his mouth.” Those are fighting words to Mo! LOL

Kidding aside, Wade did no wrong in his WTC comments. He simply was saying that the media would treat any Miami slip up next season as a major catastrophe, like what happened at Ground Zero.

I understand how sensitive a subject the WTC disaster is, but dude was not belittling or trying to compare that tragedy to the Heat losing games. He was simply saying the media would…blowing it out of proportion like they did with his statement!

Where is Wade’s apology for misinterpreting his statement? The media (which includes myself) should be careful of what we report and be held to task for it…just like Wade was for what he “supposedly” said!!

In a short, afternoon ceremony to honor the team, President Barack Obama greeted the WNBA champion Phoenix Mercury at the White House today.

Obama praised Mercury captain and WNBA Finals MVP Diana Taurasi for her outstanding play during the past year and her display of teamwork and unselfishness in recognizing her teammates when accepting the Finals MVP award after the 2009 Finals.

The president also thanked the team for its high ideals as role models for the young, citing his daughters Sasha and Malia as fans that look up to the team. He mentioned he could relate to tall women as he has three he lives with that “post him up under the boards all the time.”

According to RAPUP….

The Grammy-nominated artist, who now goes by Ameriie, added an I to her name to reflect positive energy. She announced the change to Rap-Up.com last month, but didn’t go public with it until her new Twitter page (@ItsAmeriie) was set up.

Ameriie has been in the studio working on the follow-up to last year’s In Love & War called Cymatika Vol. 1 (note the new spelling), named after the study of visible sound and vibration. “I’m still in the studio right now, so the best thing I can say is it’s a very international, worldly sound,” she told Rap-Up TV.

In addition to changing her name, Ameriie has also become engaged to her longtime manager Lenny Nicholson. The couple is planning to wed in 2011.

His announcement was the first time he ever expressed not wanting to spend the rest of his life with her and at this moment she is a distraught mother and wife. With that kind of shock, I dont think she has even considered taking it off yet, everything happened so fast.

Trust me, if his words were truth, I would have been the first to throw a party for her leaving his evil ass. Check all the photos from 2010: she never took it off. Meanwhile he sure tried to use her and that baby to promote his failed album cause thats the only thing people cared about, not him. Why would a single man do that?

And all this bull about doing things to protect the baby!!! That baby cant read! But before she knows how to read, she will be able to understand those nasty disrespectful photos of daddy and what was a close family friend and employee.

Christina has real family and friends supporting her because she is 100% real and is an absolute joy to be around. The-Dream is the devil and anyone close to him is paid to be there and he could never get over that. That was the only problem in their relationship: he is crazy; he was mentally controlling and abusive. Now that he has recently turned his back on Christina, the clouds are clearing and she is no longer in the brainwashed state he had her in. Thank God!

He started by trying to control her career: not allowing her to work with any other producers, meanwhile giving her leftover songs that he had already written and recorded with other artists. Then he made sure to leak the songs on the internet so there was no chance of her building an album. All the while badgering her about how much he did for her and how she didnt appreciate him, forcing her to be subservient and fall deeper into this world full of apologies to a man who can never be satisfied.

It made me sick to be near her on the phone with him: she apologized for everything just to move on from the issue even when she was guilty of nothing. “I’m sorry” was way too prevalent in her vocabulary for over 2 years and it became mentally abusive. He wallows in misery.

He constantly tried to argue with her about her family and to this day blames it on her side, but Christina moved to Atlanta while everyone was in LA and it became clear that all anyone could do to make her happy at that time was let her go and they did. But he continued to go at her with the same problems while she dedicated this “new life” to him, pushing aside her career and family for him.

He even faked illness to drag her further into this misery.. Christina was forced to play mommy to a newborn and to a full grown man and had no time to attend to herself, forcing her family to make extended visits in order to help her.

Meanwhile The Dream hit up a more mainstream outlet [#noshade] and wrote an open letter to MTV.COM

In the statement titled “In My Own Words,” posted on his website, he wrote, “First I want to thank God for the trials of life, without them we can’t know purpose!”

While the letter is long, The-Dream said he wouldn’t address the reasons for the split in the statement. “It’s easy to say that it’s because of another woman or a new relationship but truthfully, IT’S NOT,” said the singer/songwriter, who is rumored to have been unfaithful to Milian.

“I take FULL RESPONSIBILITY for misleading everyone into thinking everything was fine and okay when we knew problems existed for awhile! I wanted to speak up but we decided it wasn’t for anyone to know. I would NEVER intentionally hurt a soul and everyone around me knows that!” he continued. “There was so much going on in me and Christina’s personal world that I tried to deal with it as delicately as I could and tried to regain my footing. Instead of being direct in order not to cause even more hurt or hurt someone’s feelings, I carried the weight in secret!”

He goes on to defend himself, writing, “I am human, and people fall in and out of love all the time. … This is Life. Nothing’s promised or perfect, neither am I. … I’m sorry for the embarrassment to everyone involved!”

He finishes the by quoting his mother and signing his given name, Terius Nash. “But I was reminded by my MOTHER that I am not ‘Superman’ and it’s okay to lose sometimes,” he wrote. “This too shall pass! And everything will be fine!”

NBA legend and TNT personality Charles Barkley (who has an opinion on everything!) voiced his opinion about the LeBron James fiasco recently on the Dan LeBatard Show. Among his many rants, Barkley mentioned LeBron staying and winning in Cleveland would have been honorable “like a man” and that King James will never be Michael Jordan! Read on…

Barkley back in his “LeBron” days…better to beat ‘em than to join ‘em!

Barkley, who was part of his own “Big Three” back in the day when he joined up in Houston with Hakeem Olajawon and Clyde Drexler, said he would have never tried such a move early in his career but obviously finds some honor in doing so later on as one’s career winds down.

Barkley has been in Canada (which explains why we haven’t heard from him on this subject!) but is back to give his account on all things LeBron.

On his issues with LeBron James’ decision:

“I think that, number one, LeBron can go where he wants to. I had a couple of problems about the special. Thank God I was in Canada and didn’t have to watch it, I thought that was stupid. I thought he should have told the Cavaliers in advance. And third, I think this thing has been planned all along and that’s the only thing that really disturbs me.”

On Cleveland owner Dan Gilbert’s reactionary letter to Cavaliers fans:

“That was over the top. I mean, c’mon. His homecoming queen dumped him at the prom. You know he’s going to overreact. It was stupid, but like don’t go overboard. We all say things in the heat of the moment. I think what him and Jesse Jackson said both are just stupid. … I think him and Jesse both need to shut the hell up.”

On Gilbert bailing out LeBron:

“Dan Gilbert bailed him out by being an idiot. His overreaction and using some of the language he used, he let LeBron off the hook. I haven’t talked to anybody, not one person … who felt like LeBron handled it the right way. They have no problem with him leaving Cleveland, but just the way he handled the whole thing.”

On whether James can ever compare to Michael Jordan:

“He’ll never be Jordan. This clearly takes him out of the conversation. He can win as much as he wants to. There would have been something honorable about staying in Cleveland and trying to win it as the man. … LeBron, if he would’ve stayed in Cleveland, and if he could’ve got a championship there, it would have been over the top for his legacy, just one in Cleveland. No matter how many he wins in Miami, it clearly is Dwyane Wade’s team.”

On whether super teams are good or bad for the NBA:

“I think it shows that those guys don’t want that pressure. Part of my legacy is I didn’t win a championship and I just have to live with that. It is what it is. Karl Malone and Patrick Ewing, that’s part of their legacy. But what I’ve said all along, when there’s two guys who are primetime players, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, the rest of these guys are just trying to piggy-back on other people. … There were two guys that could change your franchise for the next 10 years and that was Dwyane and that was LeBron. … They’re going to be playing together and it’s going to be fun to watch. … But there would have been something honorable about LeBron staying in Cleveland, trying to bring the first championship since 1963 or 64 to that city. There would’ve been something really cool about that. And let’s quit faking it, those fans in Miami ain’t the best fans in the world.”

On whether LeBron taking less money is unselfish or leaving Cleveland is selfish:

“There is some truth to [being unselfish by taking less money] but unselfish would have been saying, ‘You know what? I was born here in Cleveland, these people deserve a championship and I’m the guy who can bring that to them.’ Going to Miami, there is something to be said about that, but let me just tell you something, the whole other end of that spectrum is, if he could’ve brought a championship to Cleveland, that’s totally different than bringing a championship to Miami.”

On his chasing of a championship when he went to Houston late in his career:

“It’s alright to do that late in your career. I’ve been consistent. When you get 35 and you’re trying to chase it, that’s totally different. I wouldn’t have been chasing it at 25. I wanted to compete against Michael Jordan and Karl Malone and those guys when I was 25. If LeBron was 35 or 36, it would’ve been totally different.”

Barkley has never held back in his opinions and beliefs…and I have disagreed with Charles on many subjects. But I must say he makes perfect sense here except for one thing. Perspective. From Charles’ perspective, winning one in Cleveland is as good as three in Miami for LeBron. From LeBron’s perspective, who’s chasing MJ and Kobe’s shadow, winning multiple titles begins to put him in their company…and the clock is ticking! (Amazing how someone who’s 25 sees the clock ticking…generational thing I suppose)

Who can say who’s got the right idea? Barkley clearly believes that even if LeBron wins in Miami, it won’t be the same. That somehow if LeBron stands at the end of the day with six titles to tie Jordan, there will be a ‘heated’ asterisk next to it! But winning is winning…no matter what.

One thing is clear. LeBron’s legacy has yet to unfold and there are many, many chapters to be written. Everybody has their opinions but time will have the ultimate say on the subject.

Chad is seriously a free spirit! Yesterday, the Bengals wide receiver tweeted that he was in Las Vegas “walking around MGM lobby in my gold toe socks and h&m briefs seeing who’s winning on these slot machines, people looking at me crazy WTF.”

Apparently, he had bigger fish to fry and took his act to other casinos to try his luck. He also tweeted, “Back in my briefs and socks walking down Flamingo or as they say the Las Vegas strip, when it gets a lil cooler ill put on some clothes.”

The man that caused a youtube stir with footage of him jogging naked in the park apparently won $100 while gambling in his underwear! At least that’s what he told Arizona Cardinals safety Kerry Rhodes.

Chad must get bored with himself. Dude is always looking for the next bizarre act, the next weird occurance…or maybe he just sees these things as normal behavior for him. Whatever the case, dude never misses a chance to be caught with his pants down!

Former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson recently went into a self-loathing introspection with Details magazine, calling himself a pig, a piece of shit and saying that his life has been a f–king waste! WOW! Read on…

The 44-year old Tyson said 20 years ago when he was one of the most famous figures in the world, his life was about a whole lot of selfishness:

The first stage of my life was just a whole bunch of selfishness. Just a whole bunch of gifts to myself and people who didn’t necessarily deserve it. Now I’m 44, and I realize that my whole life is just a fucking waste. “Greatest man on the planet”? I wasn’t half the man I thought I was. So if there’s a big plan now, it’s just to give—it’s selflessness, caring for the people who deserve it. Because I think I’m a pig. I have this uncanny ability to look at myself in the mirror and say, “This is a pig. You are a fucking piece of shit.”

Iron Mike went on to say that he never thought he’d make it to age 44 and that today he’s not very sure of who he is—that his heritage is unclear to him.

I only know I’m not supposed to be here. I’m supposed to be in prison for murder. I’m supposed to be dead by now, have AIDS or something.

My life is just different. I don’t even recognize myself sometimes. I went back to Brownsville with my reality-TV-show crew, they’re doing a segment about my childhood racing pigeons, and Brownsville’s all upscale now. They got surveillance cameras, buildings that were abandoned cost, like, a million now, and I’m thinking, My life must’ve been a lie, ’cause there’s nothing there that looks like my childhood. This white woman come up, and I’m thinking, Wow. When I was a kid, she would’ve been robbed and raped and left for dead. This is a real strange scenario, and I just wanted to cry. I’m like, “Who am I? Where’s my heritage?”

Fascinating that Mike Tyson has such a deep sense of self-degradation in looking at his life. Dude came from nothing to become someone significant in society only to not know how to handle the transition to celebrity.

That mentality eerily reminds me of how Tupac saw his life…a ghetto kid who came from nothing to be something major but never saw himself as anyone worth talking about.

In both cases however, there seems to be a disconnect with realizing what a difference one’s journey can make on one’s self, others…and the world. Tyson was really harsh on himself but needs to realize that every life has meaning and has a purpose. We all make mistakes in life. The key is realizing those mistakes and turning them into something that makes a positive difference.

Can you imagine what a force in the world Tupac could have been as an adult right now if he were alive? If he realized what his plight in life could ultimately become? Mike Tyson, whether he knows it or not, still has that chance.

TMZ broke the story last week … Bridget Hardy had accused Jaleel of punching and slapping her. Jaleel — best known for playing ‘Steve Urkel‘ on “Family Matters” — denied there was any incident. Jaleel’s attorney Philip Cohen tells TMZ there were questions about the accuser’s “credibility and timing” in this matter — partly because she waited several weeks to report the incident.

25-year-old Angel Doutzen Kroes announced that she is taking a break from working with the brand, as she is three months pregnant with her first child. The father is DJ Sunnery James, who Kroes has been seeing since August of last year.

Kroes says that as long as she feels physically well, she will continue to model — just last week, she was on set for POP. “Sunnery and I are in the clouds, she told Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf. “The critical first three months have gone well, and I feel good.” She Twittered earlier today in Dutch: “Thank you very much for your congratulations dear people. T.O. tuning down his narcissism? That’s too heated even for him!!

Owens hit the airwaves today to promote the second season of VH1′s “The T.O. Show.” As much as T.O. tried to stay on script and talk about the show (snore), he couldn’t help himself and soon talk turned towards football.

In an interview with 96.5 The Buzz in Kansas City, T.O. dismissed the idea of playing for the Kansas City Chiefs, whom have been rumored to be interested in T.O.’s services.

“Me and (KC coach) Todd Haley, we don’t get along,” Owens told the host.

But Owens made it clear to Boston’s WJMN Radio that playing for the New England Patriots would be a different story.

“I’d definitely be open to that,” he said.

“I mean, you’ve got (Tom) Brady there. You’ve got the great mind, coach (Bill) Bellichick,” Owens said. “I’m like LeBron. I can go there and take less of a role, take less money and put everything aside and make it work.”

LOL!! What a clown…and a phoney! T.O. taking a lesser role to win? T.O. sacrificing himself for the good of the team? T.O. putting everything aside to make it work? Give me a break! Bellichick is just the type of guy that would demand the T.O. Show has to go if you wanna be on the Pats. Now do you think dude would put THAT aside? Does LeBron have a championship?

And what about this LeBron comparison? For as big a name as LeBron is, I can honestly see James taking a step back to win (see SI cover). But who in their right mind believes T.O. would honestly and sincerely do that? Apparently no NFL team which is why he’s yet to be signed by one!

Can T.O. still play the game of football? No doubt. Can he help a team win? Of course. Has he gotten a ‘bad rap’ from the media in terms of his character? Maybe. But Owens brought much of the question of his character on himself. Turbulent stops in San Fran, Philly and Dallas have nothing to do with ESPN!

To think that the Patriots, and Bellichick in particular, would put up with this dude on the team is inconceivable. But then again, Pats management is synonymous with ‘pay cut’…and the thought of T.O. lining up opposite Randy Moss does have a Miami Heat-like quality to it.

I will say this about Owen’s LeBron comparison…it would certainly be feast or famine if he moves to New England. Just like it’s gonna be in Miami!

My how times have changed! The new Miami Heat threesome dons the cover of the latest Sports Illustrated issue…and LeBron looks like an afterthought!!

The NBA’s biggest celebrity appears dwarfed by Chris Bosh’s size advantage while Dwyane Wade is the center of attention…something I’m sure LeBron James will have to get used to!! (Did you notice LeBron rations on a smile unlike Wade & Bosh??)

Granted, it’s just a cover but the imagery just seems symbolic of the sacrifice that King James is apparently making in pursuit of his first NBA title. It’s just this type of “diminishing aura” that has fueled LeBron’s detractors into believing he has sacrificed his brand and went out like a sucka in his attempt at championship greatness.

I don’t know about all of that but if LeBron James brings a championship (or three) to Miami, all the backlash may subside. NFL legend John Madden said it best: “Winning is the best deodorant!”

Apparently this footage is about a year old before Kobe’s 5th title and LeBron’s move to Miami…but just “recently surfaced” according to Yahoo sports.

No surprise here. LeBron followers still want to make excuses for LeBron’s championship failures but the simple fact of the matter is, Kobe has won 5 titles, LeBron none. You have the game’s greatest player endorsing Kobe…enough said! King James will have to put in some serious overtime in Miami just to make this a REAL discussion!

I’ve been in Los Angeles eight years, and there’s no bigger surprise to me than realizing Evan Ross is such a big party boy.  There has probably never been a night that I’ve been out that I haven’t seen him out partying!  He’s like the male Kim Kardashian or Paris Hilton – I would even say Lindsay Lohan – except that he’s got his head on straight – sort of.

Last night, Evan exited MyStudio a little inebriated – okay   inebriated – and his wife had to basically drag him to the car.  But you will never see him driving, because he always has his faithful driver Jazz pick him up and drop him off [Jazz is Lindsay Lohan's old driver].

Did y’all know Evan Ross was such a bad boy?   Does that turn you on? LOL!

Woman fell to her death on a rollercoaster ride at Dixieland theme park in Baton Rouge, LA. The coaster is only 3 years old, and at the last investigation was said to have no mechanical problems.
