Men are gettin’ worse than the females nowadays as they take it all off in front of the cameras for album sales…everyone from Mario, Chris Brown, Omarion, Trey Songz, S. Dot the Pen – you name’em and they are hitting the gym hard to rip their shirts off to get attention from the female and male fans. < don’t sleep. Then showing their hard work off on Twitter/Ustream! Thanks God for new media…
Now this phenomenon is nothing new [Usher, R. Kelly, D'Angelo, Luther Vandross - wait nevermind - Luther kept his clothes on thank God] but with the rise in New Media singers [i.e. Sammie, Spectacular, and Trey Songz] just hop on camera sitting around butt naked and taking showers!! The ultimate fail of this concept was when Spectacular of the group ‘Pretty Ricky’ did a ghey strip tease in front of his webcam wearing red panties!
I guess whatever it takes to get an album sale – but is this a double standard? If someone like Kelly Rowland did the same thing, would everyone say they are whoring themselves?? Imagine Beyonce on Ustream taking a shower…what do you think?

Last night I covered the 2010 BET Awards after party in West Hollywood at Cecconi’s!
Normally the location, is pretty high end [J.Lo, Tom Cruise, Will & Jada, Cameron Diaz etc frequent the place]. Of course last night it was ‘hood like every other place in town, and the police had to shut it down a little early.
So I watched Mr. Trey Songz stumble out of the club, having to be held up by three men! LOL! I wonder why he got so tore up! Maybe because of the Prince performance he completely ruined?? Or maybe because he got son’d by Patti LaBelle!! Either way that suit was fitting him just right so….if we can forgive Chris Brown, we can forgive Trey Songz for gurggling Purple Rain like it was Listerine!
There’s a body battle going on in R&B and at any moment someone is bound to eclipse the other…..
Excuse me Sammie! I guess he is the “batty body boy” of the moment….LOL!
Truthfully, I can’t sing any song he has ever sanged … but maybe now I will check out his mixxxtape “It’s Just a Mixtape” to be released next Tuesday, June 22, 2010. The mixtape will feature all new songs and no remakes!!
Hmmm…maybe he should throw in a remake in there…..
